Benefits: The benefits of developing leaders directly relates to higher employee commitment, reduced turnover, higher morale, and increased productivity and profitability for credit unions. Improved accountability, stronger work ethic, better employee relations, greater retention and better conflict management are all a direct result of participating in the Credit Union Leadership Institute.
A 360 survey was given pre-training and post-training to supervisors and co-workers of the participants. Below are the quantitative and qualitative results concerning the direct impact of the Credit Union Leadership Institute program.
Overall, participant scores increased nearly 10% from the pre-training survey to the post-training survey. Every participant showed a significant total score increase from the pre-training survey to the post-training survey. All participants improved in all assessed areas.
Participant scores increased most notably (10-25% improvement) in the assessed areas of:
- Exemplifying organizational values
- Control over emotions
- Time management skills
- Explaining the “why” or purpose associated with work-related tasks
- Devoting time to meet with the team
- Assuming responsibility for problems and issues
- Helping others achieve their goals
- Coaching and mentoring employees
- Training their future potential replacement
- Setting high expectations
- Enabling others to assume leadership roles
- Minimized micro-management tactics
- Sharing information
- Workplace prioritization
- Giving, receiving, and using feedback
- Using adaptive leadership styles to fit the person and the situation
Participant scores showed improvement in all 20 assessed categories of leadership
